Opening to Life
What songs live in you? What music wants to come through you? How do you set it free? Come and explore your vocal sounds in a fun and safe environment. Through fun and playful exercises you’ll learn how to turn sound into music. Exercises that will help you understand the building blocks of improvisation. This gives you lots of choices in what to start or contribute in vocal play, so that you can grow in your vocal improv skills, become a more conscious improviser, and learn some improv vocabulary. You’ll learn how to lead a circle song, how to come up with and give parts to three or so sections and pay with your creations. No experience whatsoever required or expected.
It’s as simple as Bobby McFerrin says: “First you sing one note, and then you sing the next.”
Drop in any or every Wednesday.
$10 payable at door or on-line here (paypal link at bottom of page).
